GIRO business card design extravaganza

Narrative

You meet a nice fellow at a conference in the middle of Boston who happens to be a purchaser for your type of merchandise. The first thoughts that come to mind are “commission!”, followed shortly by “Starbucks!” So in an effort to postpone your addiction you strike up your charismatic self and politely hand him your card hoping for the best soon to come as you sip your quad-shot-tall-three-pump-sugar-free-vanilla-non-fat-latte-with-room on your plane back to wherever you came from. The problem is, your generic white scratch of paper is lost among the other 20+ john smiths that Mr. Purchaser also collected. Moral of the story: when someone looks at your business card, you want it to be memorable, informative, and useful. You want that client to remember you when you meet them sure, but that memory comes to mind so much more vividly when they hold out that flashy card that makes them say, “Oh that guy had THE COOLEST looking card. He must be good at what he does.” ~Fin

This story sucks.

Initial Design

So now that the mood has been set, Uncharted Design’s process of making all types of identity print work is similar in its methodology, so I wont bore you with the small details. Our client GIRO Entertainment asked us to design them a business card. Here is what we came up with.

Final Decision

Three different styles, all using the color scheme of all of GIRO’s other materials. These three very different designs cover a wide base of options and each say different things to the reader. Ultimately GIRO went with the motto, “Less is More” and chose the first style.

They opted for having nothing on the back, which follows the phrase they based the choice off of.
